"Paul Brackley built a 17 foot traditional
Whitehall for me in
lapstrake mahogany. Not only is the boat itself a masterpiece - turns
heads even on the trailer, rows smoothly through the roughest water, and is a
very responsive sailor - but dealing with Paul himself was a great pleasure.
He was at all times extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and fair. Building anything
and particularly a boat can be
a harrowing experience, but one couldn't be in better hands than Paul." Tim / Washington, D.C. |
We
enjoyed working with Paul. His restoration of our old family boat
was excellent, and looked better than it had for 25 years. Paul
is a true artist and we highly recommend his work. The

Dear Paul,
This is a short note to say how thrilled with the restoration that
you have done on our Peterborough canoe. The canoe has been a valued
part of our cottage fleet for decades and we were anxious to have
repair work done that would not only keep it afloat, but would restore
its beauty in a way that also would maintainthe integrity of its original
work. You have done just that right down to the "new" original decal.
It was a pleasure talking through the process with you. Your obvious
deep knowledge of water craft- old and new- and your love of restoration
came through on our first meeting, so much so that we let you and
Norma take our canoe back to your shop then and there. Proof of your
skill was evident this past July 1st when as promised, you delivered
the beautifully restored boat and at the cost we had agreed upon.
Thank you very much for your work on "Blue". It's been a pleasure
doing business with you. Sincerely,

"I have to say that it sails very
nicely in a gentle breeze, which is what I seem to have most often
on my small lake in Minnesota. Everyone who has seen it either close
up or at a distance is always commenting on how beautiful it is, both
as far as design and construction. I know that when I first picked
it up from you in Canada last year, and saw it personally for the
first time, I was absolutely just awed by it's beauty and detailing." Steven / Minnesota |
"We
feel privileged to be the owners of an electric canoe designed and
built by Brackley Boats. Its outstanding quality and craftsmanship
compares more than favourably with the many traditional boats on the
river Thames. It seems that every time we go out on the boat, we draw
admiring comments from fellow boat users." Ken

"Brackley Boats' restoration work
on our thirty-year old cedar canoe made it better than new. I couldn't
possibly be happier." Kendrick /

"Thank you, Paul, for rescuing our
75th Anniversary Peterborough cedarstrip from a canoe in much disrepair
and turning it into a beautiful family heirloom. Memories of my mother
paddling my sister and I in the canoe as children are now shared with
my 3 sons and their families. This canoe has been used by 4 generations.
It will continue to be enjoyed into the future.
Thanks again for a beautiful and quality restoration!." Jan

"Paul
is very easy to work with. during the building of our boat he stayed
in constant contact and gave us progress pictures. We found him to
be very trust worthy. Our boat has excellent quality and attention
to detail. And speaking of attention----our boat gets all the attention
and compliments when we take it out for a cruise. Our whole family
has enjoyed it." Drake / South Carolina |
"Our
15' Whitehall is an ideal boat for the Barnegat Bay. It's fun to row,
easy to maneuver, and definitely turns heads when we row it past our
neighbors' homes." Larry / New Jersey |
"Paul
Brackley understood immediately what I wanted when I came to him with
my dream of a wooden passenger rowboat with a proper sliding seat
rig...something practical but elegant and fast. Digging into his files
he quickly found the plans for the beautiful 18 foot pulling boat
"Liz". It was as if my mental image of something I had never
seen before had taken shape on paper. Now, it has taken shape in cedar
strip and mahogany, every bit as lovely as I had imagined it could
be. Be patient with Paul's deadlines...perfection cannot be rushed." Chris / Toronto |
